Co-founder and CTO of Ryu Games

Acquired by Treasure

I co-founded Ryu Games with Ross Krasner back in 2018 while students at Northwestern University. We scaled Ryu from a dorm room project to raise over $4M and were acquired by Treasure in September 2024.

As CTO I oversaw the engineering team and lead product development.

We built a skill-based real-money gaming platform to enable mobile gamers to compete against each other in games for cash prizes. In 2021 we closed our $2.3M seed round after completing the 500 Global accelerator in San Francisco.

Our team developed an iOS SDK for games built in Unity and with native Swift. The SDK was written in a combination of Swift, Objective-C and C#. The system was powered by a containerized NodeJS backend built on top of AWS EKS.

In 2022 we began development of a blockchain wallet and game launcher, our “Steam for Web3” application, Flame. In 2023 we began to white-label Flame to other gaming projects in the blockchain space, including Arbitrum and Treasure.

In July 2024, Treasure DAO's 41st Treasure Improvement Plan (TIP-41) Acquisition of Ryu to Accelerate Treasure’s Product Roadmap was approved overwhelmingly. The TIP proposed to acquire all of Ryu Games' IP, including our launcher technology, developer tooling, infrastructure and games.

As part of the acquisition the entire Ryu Games team was hired to join Treasure to integrate our technology and I began my role as Technical Director at Treasure where I oversee the development of the Treasure Launcher and the developer tooling.

The deal officially closed in September 2024.
